The Local Authority Leadership and Governance Team have the statutory responsibility for maintained schools in Suffolk. We run our own training sessions surrounding a number of areas, including preparing for Ofsted and are often present at Governor Briefing sessions alongside Schools’ Choice. Invitations are sent out as appropriate or sessions are advertised in our Governor Headlines newsletter.
Schools’ Choice Governor Training:
If you are new to governance it can seem a daunting task and if you are experienced, you will know how quickly the educational landscape and role of governors can change. Schools’ Choice Governor Services offer a robust training package designed to support and empower you to govern effectively in your schools, academies and PRUs.
Schools’ Choice training courses are designed and reviewed frequently to help governors, PRU managers and academy board members meet and surpass the high expectations placed on them. The focus of their training is what makes governance outstanding and effective, irrespective of school type, and have all been designed with the three core functions of governance, as defined by the Department for Education, and together with the Competency Framework for Governance.
