In collaboration with children, parents and staff, children are provided with a metaphorical ‘learning toolbox’ through the established scheme of BLP by Guy Claxton. This includes:
- A shared vocabulary of learning, displayed and used consistently across the school;
- Starting the year with a two week topic on the learning language in every year group;
- Building a curriculum around the learning needs of the children, rather than the teaching needs of the curriculum, with an entry point and knowledge harvest;
- Reflective practice being very much part of the learning process by children and teachers.
