We have reconsidered our approach to training and support as follows:
- A core of supply teachers are utilised when staff are on professional development training, to ensure continuity of approach;
- The Headteacher implements a rigorous training programme for these supply teachers, which includes shadowing classes and introduction to policy and procedure;
- Additional classes and interventions are staffed in a similar manner, using experienced selected individuals to offer intervention and G&T opportunities;
- Lessons are not formally observed; instead the language of coaching is used in its place and when possible, are paired observations.
