Brooklands has improved behaviour by:
- Developing a traffic light system. Children’s names are written on tabs. Children are expected to ‘stay in green’. If a child stays in ‘green’ all week their name is put into a random name generator. During the weekly Celebration Assembly a child is selected at random. This child picks a prize from a selection displayed.
- We use ClassDoJo to monitor and support children and have found that this has impact on positive parental engagement.
- At the end of the year, children that have behaved well over the year (stayed in green), get a gold envelope and a larger prize.
- Teachers ensure that detailed records are collated of those that did not ‘stay in green’ and this is analysed for patterns and trends by the senior leadership team.
