The headteacher and her leadership team set about embedding the following:
- Holding staff to account for their job descriptions and line management areas has been crucial to improving the school;
- Phonics training and monitoring has been rigorous, to ensure consistency;
- Half-termly tea and talk with parents with an open agenda has been vital to ensuring that we understand the concerns of parents and can communicate change effectively;
- Incorporating ‘Tapestry’ into early years has also supported strong parental engagement;
- We have shared responsibilities in key areas so that it increases accountability and creativity;
- Talk for writing is used across the school and monitored tightly;
- We have timetabled book checks and moderations;
- We have changed our school logo and updated our website to be more professional and outward-facing;
- We have open and honest conversations with governance on a regular basis, and encourage time in school.
